Tom Jorgensen

Drummer, Mixing Engineer, Composer

Tom Jorgensen

is an active and highly-requested drummer, session musician, composer, and mixing engineer based in New York City. He is most known for his musical versatility, his advanced sight-reading, his stylistic sensibility, and for occasionally putting his perfect pitch to good use by mentioning what note the chair produced when screeched across the floor. Tom is a graduate with a BFA from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC, where he studied with jazz legends such as Reggie Workman, Charli Persip, and privately with Master Drummer Michael Carvin, with whom a mentorship continues to this day.

Tom frequently performs with the internet sensation Postmodern Jukebox, having toured with the group extensively in the United States, Canada, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia (which featured a sold out concert at the Sydney Opera House). He is also seen in several of the videos on the PMJ Official YouTube Channel, which currently has amassed 6 million subscribers and over 2 billion views. His career has also taken him abroad throughout Europe, South America, French Polynesia, and the Caribbean while acting as Music Director onboard Holland America Cruise Line.

Tom is continually active in the Musical Theater field as well, as he is currently holding the drum chair on the Beetlejuice The Musical First National Tour. He has also toured with the Waitress The Musical First National Tour, and has subbed at the show during its run on Broadway in NYC. He has been seen performing in regional theater productions such as Barrington Stage Company’s Broadway Bounty Hunter written by Joe Iconis (Be More Chill), and has subbed in Off-Broadway productions including the most recent production of Jonathan Larson’s Tick, Tick… BOOM!.

Alongside his steady live performance schedule in New York City, Tom is sought after as a session musician, mixing engineer, and composer. Recent recording work includes playing on up-and-coming Broadway actress Analise Scarpaci’s debut album Pathetic Little Dreamer, and the most recent album release from satirist and comedian Randy Rainbow A Little Brains, A Little Talent, which was nominated for a Grammy® in the Best Comedy Album category. Tom is also the primary mixing engineer for artist Robyn Adele Anderson, who has cultivated nearly 700K subscribers on YouTube and over 100 million views.

Tom is currently steady at work developing his own debut album. He currently endorses Jerry Harvey Audio In-Ear Monitors.
